Dr. April Y. Silas, the Board of Directors, and the staff are thrilled to welcome Dr. Kenneth Kim (he/him) as the new Chief Operating Officer at Homeless Children’s Network! Dr. Kim is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience in community mental health, the foster care system, and trauma treatment. In his new role at HCN, he will bring his passion and expertise to help scale our organization and achieve impactful, cost-effective outcomes that align with our mission and vision.

“I am filled with gratitude and excitement as I step into the role of Chief Operating Officer at Homeless Children's Network,” Dr. Kim shared. “I look forward to working alongside such passionate individuals dedicated to uplifting and supporting children and families in need."

Dr. Kim comes to us with a strong track record of leadership in community mental health and human services. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Hamilton Families, and prior to that, he was the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives at the GLIDE Foundation. During his tenure with Glide, he represented the community on several key committees, including the Community Advisory Committee for the Tenderloin Health Improvement Partnership (TLHIP), the SF Board of Supervisors’ Street-Level Drug Dealing Task Force, and Mayor Breed’s Steering Committee for Alternatives to Police Funding.

His extensive work with Bay Area community organizations and city agencies has influenced significant city initiatives, including overdose prevention sites, Mental Health SF, and the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion pilot program.

Dr. Kim also dedicates his time as a board member of the Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation and as an advisor to the Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco. His diverse experience spans volunteer work, training, and initiatives in violence prevention, severe mental illness, substance use, psychological assessment, and crisis intervention.

We are excited to have Dr. Kim join us and look forward to the incredible impact he will make at HCN!
