San Francisco African American Reparations Advisory Committee (AARAC) Report on Reparations.

African Americans are calling for reparations to address the harm caused by enslavement and specific public policies in San Francisco designed to oppress Black people and maintain the legacy of chattel slavery.

Despite the efforts to destroy us, Black people in the United States have consistently built loving families and communities, provided a blueprint for American cuisine, constructed our nation's most notable monuments, and are the most influential creators of artistic expression globally through dance, music, fashion, and language.

The report identifies how policies, corporate advocacy, and institutional choices have perpetuated harm against African Americans in San Francisco.
