HCN Celebrates Latinx Culture, Food, and Heritage

On Tuesday, October 12, HCN hosted the Latinx Heritage Month celebration virtually. The program presented a wide range of rich history, introduction to various foods, and performance by staff who are Latinx descendants.

The celebration began with a popular pop song by Selena playing over the speakers, “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom Bidi Bidi Bom Bom” bringing all the excitement virtually by featuring an important and celebrated Latinx figure.

HCN Latinx staff collectively came together to bring life into storytelling, passion and light to each of their individual unique cultures. Each member highlighted their heritage on the maps while telling beautiful tales of their community. During the Latinx celebration, the staff closed their eyes to follow a recitation of a poetic lullaby that brought a sense of comfort to everyone.

The program was filled with historical, powerful and extraordinary testimonies from our Latinx staff. HCN is honored to celebrate the heritage of Latinx members and will continue to foster and expand this tradition for the years to come. We are thankful to each and everyone who participated and attended this event.
