As we step into 2025, we at Homeless Children’s Network (HCN) acknowledge that the start of the year may have felt rocky for many. But in moments of challenge, the need for unity and purpose grows stronger. Now, more than ever, it’s essential for us to come together as a community, supporting one another and charting a path forward.
HCN’s team has embraced this call for collective action with a shared vision of growth, innovation, and community-centered progress. Our aspirations for 2025 focus on revitalizing internal systems, launching transformative programs, and deepening bonds with the communities we serve. Together, we are setting the stage for a year of profound impact, one rooted in resilience and collaboration.
Matthew, our QA Director and Chief Compliance Officer, envisions stability as the foundation for progress this year. With a focus on enhancing documentation and EHR systems, he’s committed to creating a seamless experience for both staff and clients. But for Matthew, this isn’t just about operational efficiency, it’s about empowering the people who make HCN’s work possible. Guided by the mantra “The learning never stops,” Matthew strives to deepen his understanding of HCN’s programs and contracts, reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement.
Building on this vision of empowerment, Jackie, HCN’s newly appointed CFO, sees 2025 as a pivotal year to define her leadership and foster collaboration across the organization. She is excited to leverage new financial systems for more transparent and impactful reporting. Jackie understands that progress stems not just from efficiency but from genuine partnership, both within HCN and with the communities they serve.
That spirit of collaboration extends to Cameron, Director of Afri-centric Programs, who is leading the charge on our groundbreaking Jabali Awareness and Education Campaign. This culturally responsive program aims to bring awareness to substance use disorders while empowering San Francisco’s Black community with tailored support. Outside of work, Cameron’s personal goal of reconnecting with nature reminds us all of the importance of balance and self-care. His words of encouragement reflect this sentiment: “Through turbulent times, we must not forget the positives around us. Together, we can envision a future where all prosper.”
Dr. Kenneth Kim, HCN’s COO, shares a bright vision of connection and growth. He looks forward to spending more time with program staff and engaging deeply with the communities HCN serves.
As each of us brings their unique perspective and energy to the year ahead, our shared hope is clear: to create an organization that inspires, empowers, and uplifts. Progress isn’t just about the systems we build or the programs we launch, it’s about the people we serve and the connections we forge.
